Jana Vaughn serves as the Deputy Administrator of the Bureau of Disability Adjudication.  Since joining the agency in 2012, she has brought dedication, commitment, positivity, and excellence to every aspect of her work.  Over the course of her service, Jana has held several key roles, including Adjudicator, Agency Trainer, Adjudication Supervisor, and Operations Manager, before being selected as the Nevada Disability Determination Services Administrator.  A life-long Nevadan, Jana is deeply invested in serving her community.

Jana is widely recognized for her innovative and motivational leadership style, which has been instrumental in driving significant improvements within the agency.  Under her guidance, the Bureau has achieved notable advancements in efficiency, accuracy, productivity, and customer service for claimants.

Jana holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nevada, Reno.  Her exemplary leadership has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the Social Security Administration’s Associate Commissioner’s Award, the Social Security Administration’s Deputy Commissioner’s Citation, the Earl B. Thomas Award from the National Association of Disability Examiners, and the Karen Belleni Management Excellence Award from the Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation.
